Dear Friends,
Together, we’ve made incredible headway this year! (see "Read On" below) To build on our momentum, your financial support is needed more than ever to Stop Private Jet Expansion at Hanscom or Anywhere (SPJE).
|
Your donations last year funded the independent analysis which, in large part, led to EEA Secretary Tepper’s rejection of the Hanscom developers’ DEIR, effectively forcing the developers back to the drawing board. This was a critical piece of our success that wouldn't have happened without your grassroots financial support.
|
We’re at a crucial moment. The developers’ new report could be released at any time. Your gift before December 31st will ensure that we have the resources needed to refute the developers' new claims and expose the extent of the harm this expansion would cause. As we approach year-end, we urgently need to raise $50,000 to be fully prepared. Please donate as generously as you can.
|
Your gift today will help –
- fund expert analysis of the forthcoming claims in the developers’ next report
- grow and mobilize statewide opposition to stop private jet expansion at Hanscom or anywhere
- continue to exert pressure on those who can stop the expansion: the Governor, Massport, and Runway Realty Ventures
|
Our opposition has limitless resources, and in the new political landscape, people are looking to Massachusetts to lead the way to protect our fragile climate. Stopping the expansion of private jet infrastructure is a clear, unquestionable, and necessary step towards reining in the climate crisis.
You've helped achieve significant wins this first round – now your help is needed to win the fight.
|
Your generous tax-deductible donation will keep our momentum and operations strong!

READ ON to see the milestones we’ve achieved together in our fight to stop the proposed private jet hangar expansion at Hanscom or Anywhere!
- Developers’ Draft Report (DEIR*) - rejected by MA EEA Secretary Tepper! Tepper’s rejection was owed, in large part, to the tsunami of over 1500 critical public comments and 13,500-plus petition signatures that our collective efforts helped generate! [*Draft Environmental Impact Report
- Massport Charter Update – passed in the Climate Bill, signed by Governor Healey! The revised 1956 Charter now requires Massport to promote climate priorities in equal measure with economic ones -- providing newfound leverage and opportunities for our campaign.
- A dozen municipalities have passed Resolutions urging Governor Healey to stop this indefensible expansion plan: Acton, Cambridge, Carlisle, Groton, Natick, Newton, Somerville, Sudbury and Wayland -- in addition to the four Hanscom-area towns: Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln -- and more in the wings!
- On May 1st the National Trust for Historic Preservation designated Minute Man National Historic Park, Walden Pond and Nearby Landmarks as one of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places -- due to the threat of the proposed private jet hangar expansion – thus raising it to an issue of national significance!
- We’ve grown from 40 to nearly 100 state and local organizations in a year – and are growing still!
- We’ve gathered over 14,000 petition signatures to the Governor to date – and aiming for thousands more!
- We’ve broadened our base from Boston to the Berkshires – and beyond! - Including over 70 towns and cities in MA, and other states as well!
